Along with the cultural phenomenon “Hamilton” (May 14-June 2, 2019), the Wharton Center will also welcome the Broadway touring productions of “School of Rock” (September 18-23, 2018), “Love Never Dies” (October 9-14, 2018), “Fiddler on the Roof” (December 4-9, 2018), “Anastasia” (January 15-20, 2019), and “Miss Saigon” (March 12-17, 2019).

For fans who are Ham for Ham and wanting to secure tickets, the best bet according to Wharton Center Public Relations Manager Bob Hoffman is to subscribe to the season.

“Only subscribers are guaranteed priority seating to all events, including ‘Hamilton,'” he said. On Monday, the Wharton Center season was announced to donors and subscribers. “They are the first people to learn about the season. They’re going to be the first people who are going to be able to get tickets to the shows. After that, the shows will go on sale to the general public sometime later in the summer.”

This season’s strong Broadway series lineup is thanks to Wharton Center’s executive director, Mike Brand.

“He really works with all of the Broadway producers to secure the best shows years in advance. He’s working two years ahead right now,” Hoffman said. “These shows are going across the country on tour, and he works with them to bring them to Wharton Center. We have a stellar reputation with many of the Broadway producers.”

According to Hoffman, this season’s lineup is full of shows that are great for the family. “Anastasia,” currently on Broadway, is based on the 1997 animated film. And “School of Rock” features child actors who all sing and play their own musical instruments throughout the show.

Fans of Andrew Lloyd Webber will also enjoy the season; “School of Rock” features music from the famous composer, and “Love Never Dies” is the sequel to perennial favorite “Phantom of the Opera.”

Wharton Center’s Performing Arts events will welcome familiar faces, such as soprano Renée Fleming and the dynamic duo of Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Families will also enjoy the Act One Family Series of shows, which includes “The Magic School Bus” and one of Stella’s favorite book series, “Rosie Revere, Engineer; Iggy Peck, Architect; and Ada Twist, Scientist.”

There’s no doubting that the Wharton Center’s 2018-19 season is one of the most highly anticipated lineups in years.
