It’s safe to say that our daughter Margot is OBSESSED with “Frozen.” I have watched the original movie, plus the “Frozen Fever” short and “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” special, more times that I care to admit. There are always requests from the back seat for “Anna song!!” As we approached Margot’s second birthday, it made sense to have “Frozen” be the theme.
That thought was further set in stone when I saw a post on Facebook a few months ago about a company called Princesses by Bianca. Looking at the photos and learning about the company, I thought that having Anna and Elsa at Margot’s party would be the perfect entertainment for Margot and her little friends. Who doesn’t love meeting Disney characters? We knew Margot would go nuts when she saw them, but it was also fun imagining how all of her friends would enjoy it, too.
With Margot’s birthday falling on a holiday, it has made sense to have her birthday parties a week or two later to give us time to prepare and have more people in town. Wouldn’t you know it that after a month of no snow, Margot’s birthday party day would also be the first big snow storm of the year?
We joked that it was our fault for inviting Elsa and Anna to Okemos for the day. But despite the worries about the roads and the layers of salt in our foyer, it ended up being the perfect backdrop for a pretty magical afternoon.
First of all, I can’t say enough wonderful things about Princesses by Bianca. Anna and Elsa arrived about an hour after the party started, which gave everyone a chance to eat before the fun began.
I set up an area in our living room for photos, including a blue tinsel curtain backdrop with snowflake cutouts. We ended up spending much of the party in this room when Anna and Elsa were at the house. The room has a large picture window, so the combination of the blustery snow, the little princesses, and Anna and Elsa was just perfect.
The Ever After Package with Anna and Elsa included a coronation ceremony, songs, story time, help opening presents, singing happy birthday, and plenty of photo opportunities. All of the little girls in attendance were so excited and enamored with Anna and Elsa.
We had yummy food catered from Saddleback BBQ in Okemos (also in REO Town). We ordered pulled chicken and pulled pork along with several sides, including everyone’s favorite, the corn cake. I didn’t get any photos of the food, but it was delicious! And we made sure to send everyone home with a bag of leftovers to enjoy.
Our cousin Jessi is an extremely talented baker, and she offered to make “Frozen” sugar cookies for the party. They turned out beautifully and were a perfect takeaway for our guests.
We ordered Margot’s cake from Costco because Costco cake is such delicious cake! I had hoped to get some “Frozen” cake toppers online, but nothing really stood out to me on Amazon. We ended up asking for a very simple cake and I dressed it up with some white sugar sprinkles.
It was so fun to have Anna and Elsa stay for singing “Happy Birthday.”
We then had to say goodbye to Anna and Elsa. The timing worked out perfectly because the kids were so excited about the cake that Anna and Elsa could slip out without too much fuss.
Bianca was absolutely wonderful to work with and I can’t recommend them enough for a special event. Be sure to check out her Princesses by Bianca Facebook page and website.
I love this photo of their exit into the blustery snow:
We can’t thank our friends and family enough for braving the snow and making it such a special day for our little Margot. I could have cried seeing the joy she had in being with loved ones and meeting Anna and Elsa.
This will be a tough one to top!
