Summer is (almost!) officially here, and one of the things I love the very most about the warmer months is the growing number of fun Lansing-area events and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
This summer, the Lansing City Market is the place to be for lunch and dinner during the week, thanks to The Grand Experience. The Grand Experience is a new initiative inviting locals to enjoy the scenery of the Downtown Lansing riverfront while dining on food from local food trucks and vendors in the afternoons and evenings — all summer long!
For the last two Thursdays, I have met up with friends to enjoy the sunshine, live music, and a yummy lunch from my all-time favorite food truck, the Purple Carrot Food Truck.
The Purple Carrot is a part of the Grand Experience at lunchtime on Thursdays, as well as Sweetie-licious, the Smoke N’ Pig, and Blue Owl Coffee. There are several other food trucks that are a part of The Grand Experience schedule for other days of the week.
The lower patio area of the Lansing City Market features plenty of picnic seating to enjoy eating and listening to live music.

As you can see above, DavePops are available on Friday evenings. I might need to make a point of stopping by there with the girls.
I think that this is such a great opportunity for locals and visitors to enjoy downtown Lansing in a brand new way, and I can’t wait to make a point to visit the Lansing City Market throughout the summer.
